AI today is akin to the internet in the mid 90’s, it seems half baked and kind of useless to most people right now, though already quite valuable to some. In the coming years AI will be a part of the very fabric of everyday life, much as the internet is today. As was said above, most if not nearly all jobs that currently require a human to sit behind a computer to perform the specific task will be gone soon, this isn’t a doom prediction, it’s the simple math of capitalism. If a business can perform a task cheaper (no benefits, no breaks, no HR bs, no calling in sick or my kid is sick, etc. and AI will work 24/7~365), it will or its competitors will and that business will go the way of the dodo.

I run away from it. I feel as if it's a machine attempting to learn so that it can dominate. In many ways, I'm sure I'm correct.
AI is unavoidable if you're using a computer. The problem as I see it, is knowing that it is there and that it is not human and not necessarily giving you the responses you should have to make your decision, choice, or opinion .
I surf youtube for entertainment and information a LOT. I hate it when I've been duped into watching something generated by AI. It feels as if I am being purposely deceived for profit.
I really hate it when its used to counterfeit.

Our family got served by AI in the drive thru the other day, it was strange. I knew something was weird even before I registered it was AI, because the accent that greeted us did not fit any of the stereotypes I have formed around who I expect to be on the other side. And then she never got impatient with the painstakingly slow process of our family ordering fast food, that was where I knew for certain it was no human.

I came away with mixed feelings about it.

As a society, we don’t HAVE to support irresponsible and short sighted creation and use of it.

The first version was released in 2022. Since then there's been a huge number of various AI apps, with hundreds of billions, if not yet trillions, of dollars going into development.

The implications are staggering, as tech and other businesses are laying off tens of thousands of people to be replaced by AI, and it's only the beginning. A lot of lower level white collar and service jobs will be disintegrated in the next few years, with many manufacturing jobs going next as advanced robotics come on board, as they are in other parts of the world.

The traditional pathways for gaining experience needed to become expert will be majorly impacted, leaving us with even bigger idiots running industries, or relying on apps to do their thinking for them.

And the tech isn't even fully baked. It's extremely faulty and even hallucinates, and it's coming online everywhere.

Fun times ahead.

I have this thing with "making" AI art. Why because it reminds me of stories people have about hallucinations that people have when in highly delirious states. I also enjoy the fact that sono while being garbage can be used to produce songs with human written lyrics that are hilarious to me. Such as medieval songs lamenting constipation.
Or in other words the eventual and unavoidable course correct from ai. should be interesting. It's interesting when a large group of narcists have to admit they did a dumb dumb thing.

AI is part of the fabric of nearly all tech business now. Very useful for those who know how to use it. Like, game changer useful. Yes, it can make mistakes, but so can people! Reliable answers/responses come with proper prompting. If you know the subject matter, AI can make research and analysis exponentially faster and more thorough.

I love how it's great tool that is still being sold as something more then it is. Tech marketing, wait I mean marketing loves over promising and with AI the scariest part are the people that believe all the over exagerations.

We don't have to, but we're going to, because the keys to the kingdom don't reside with you and me. They reside with C suites seeking more profitability, governments seeking to use the tech to destabilize perceived enemies by destabilizing their cultures and economies, computer scientists bent on pushing boundaries for the sake of knowledge, entrepreneurs seeking status, wealth, and power, for the sake of status, wealth, and power. All of the above and more is currently happening. None of it is about the good for humanity.

Sapiens are gifted at unleashing forces over which they lack the basic intelligence to comprehend, much less control. This current one is going to be a wower, and there's no putting this back in the box. It doesn't even matter if it's half baked and a fraud. The deciders are moving forward with adoption and implementation.

Think the job market's tough now? Give it several years. Figure out what you can do with your opposable thumbs, because that just might be your best option for making a living in the future.

Yes, because it’s so difficult to use! Lol. I used to use AI in my home business, at work at a hospital, in my personal life etc. Then I started to understand what was really going on. I am happy to work a bit harder, take the stairs, do my own research, proof read my own work etc. I’m sure I’m still using it on some level but not consciously.

A friend sent me this the other day asking, "what the actual F*CK is this from Al??".
He was asking AI if it was legal to hunt deer with a glock 20. Almost every single word is incorrect. Please DONT trust AI for anything important.


First of all, you absolutely CAN use a handgun for deer in NYS. You absolutely CAN use a glock 20.
No, glock 20 is NOT "too powerful" for hunting deer. In fact, it may be the least "powerful" I would use.
Imaging, a 10mm is "too powerful", but a 30-06 is just fine.

Most importantly, you cannot EVER use a 22 rim fire for deer. You will be fined and maybe jailed.
