Living in Canada and being relegated to smoking in the garage in the winter is a cold endeavour. Don’t have the funds currently to finish and insulate it. But would love to in the future.

In the meantime, I have used a space heater and would freeze my butt off under a wool blanket. The heater did basically nothing, even while virtually sitting on top of it.

At the arena the other day watching my daughter play hockey. I was sitting under one of the heaters and actually had to move. I was roasting. Usually, because my daughter’s a goalie, I’m at the end where the heaters aren’t. If it works in the arena, I think to myself, the garage should be a piece of cake.

Many of you who have garage workshops are probably laughing because this is a no-brainer. I never said I was the sharpest tool in the garage. Lol. 😂

Decided to treat myself to a ceiling mounted Infrared radiant heater I found at the local Canadian Tire on sale. So far I’m glad I did.

Not quite snowy winter temps yet - roughly 10C out or approx. 50F outside, but all good so far. My bald head is actually sweating 😂.

Wish I would have thought of this sooner. Hopefully it will help once winter hits.

I should add, for the sake of safety, that the lit kerosene lantern is placed upright on the ground beneath your legs/thighs as you sit in a chair or on a stool The amount of heat it generates is surprising, especially when contained by the horse-blanket.

Good call and the idea of an electric couch/throw blanket is a great idea as well.

As for a fuel heater...if I lived in Canada I think Id have something for my garage as Im assuming you also likey do projects out there.
