I don’t understand the idea of tilting the bowl forward on these pipes. Seems like they would just dump tobacco and ash on to your lap!

Other than cube cut blends I've never had that happen with a forward canted pipe. I used to turn my pipes upside-down while walking in the rain without having it happen as well.

ive seen an article somewhere that says the old clay pipes were given edge cut parrallels with the pipe stem inorder to keep the forward cant from dumping tobacco out.

But honestly, the whole bowl forward like that just fits wrong with the world.

Yeah, I like a 1-5 degree cant on a pipe as much as a straight or a macaroni bent pipe. Give me one of each!
