Just finished putting away a box plus 5 Aladino Cameroon Queens Perfecto. Should have taken a picture- the box was perfectly color- matched but significantly lighter than the fiver. It'll be interesting to see if there are appreciable flavor differences

Unable to resist a good sale, I've now got 10 Corojo Santis and a box of No. 4 Reservas inbound

Was very tempted to get a sampler across the RoMa Craft 4 X 46s but good old Aladino won out

Just starting to get into cigars after about a year into my pipe journey. I’ve been buying one or 2 sticks from a local B&M every week for the last month or two. Decided I need to step up my game just a tad. Got this little Case Elegance humidor from eBay for $30 and a second hygrometer just to be sure. My first online order came in yesterday. I’m officially in love with the free fall section of Cigarbid.com. Went with this medium bodied sampler. I wanted to let them rest for at least a week or so but I couldn’t resist. Smoked a Montecristo platinum yesterday and I think I’ll be trying a series O this morning. The platinum series was amazing. Perfect construction and burn. Had some nice deep fruit citrus notes and some cashew and coffee after the first 3rd. Pretty sure the series O is supposed to have a similar profile.

Edit, actually this was my second order from cigarbid. I bought a 5 pack of the LaGloria Cubana series R maduro last week. They’re Exceptionally tasty too. But very earthy with lots of coffee and spice. Hence the reason I went medium body this purchase.
Happy smokes gentlemen. IMG_2384.jpegIMG_2383.jpegIMG_2379.jpegIMG_2382.jpegIMG_2380.jpeg

Good move getting an additional hygrometer. A hygro on a $30 humidor most likely will not be accurate. It's also very important to calibrate it. How are managing your humidity? Boveda? As far as letting them rest, I am a huge proponent of the 30 day rule. Sometimes even longer. To each his own though.

It’s actually a $105 case elegance humidor. Amazon sells them too. i came across the brand while reading and researching before buying something. The one I got on eBay for $30 was a steal. There was actually a few on eBay at about the same. As far as humidifcation it has a little plastic tray that sits under the cedar cigar tray that holds a patented bead and gel type himidification. I’ll send screen shots. the only thing mine didn’t come with was the pegs. But I decided to just put two 65% sixty gram Boveda packs under the cedar tray instead. They’re the perfect fit and have been holding the levels perfectly As well.

if you look close at the bottom right and left of this pic you can see the Boveda packs under the cedar tray that sits inside.

But you know how TAD can be. It just has a way of making online deals shopping so much fun. I found this about 5 miles away from my house on Facebook Marketplace a few days ago for $50. The price is in one of the screenshots I’ll send. So a $169.00 Needone electric humidor and a $169.00 cigar oasis excel 3.0 humidifier for only $50.00. I couldn’t have been more excited haha. Couldn’t get there fast enough to give her the money.

Jesus! That's a steal for $50! And a nice pipe collection too!
Thanks bud. I know this is a cigar thread but I’ll send one more screenshot. It’s the rest of my pipe collection. Been at it for about a year now. Most of the pipes came at incredibly discounted prices too. All by being patient and scouring eBay and the occasional for sale post on this website. These are my nicer pipes. Top left is a ben wade pot with a huge bowl thats over 1.2“ inner diameter and 2 Chacom. Top right are 2 JM Boswell and 2 other lesser known artisan. Bottom left is a Marxman, a Birthyear Dunhill and a Mauro Armallin. Bottom right are 2 Ascorti Businees and a Caminetto.

terrible pics I know lol. And this is the last one I promise. Hopefully the mods are ok with these pipe pics here. If not my apologies.

So I figured I’d post a few pics of a small mail call today. I’ve been reading up on what the general consensus is on Cigar of the month clubs. Small Batch seems to be one of the more consistently mentioned clubs so when space opened up in their $30 a month iteration I joined. It’s my first COTM Club by the way. It’s advertised as 2-6 sticks each month. From favorite brands to small batch to boutique. I’ll send a screen shot of what’s on their site. Pretty excited to try these out after resting them. They send a page with brand and cigar descriptions and also suggestions on what is similar if you are interested in finding other sticks that are similar.

I’d be interested in what COTM clubs you guys have tried and what your opinions are of those clubs.

My first COTM was Holt's: I got out of that one after a few months. Too many Rocky Patels and Oliva Vs, and poorly constructed sticks (Argyle, Don Lino).

From there I joined Smoke Inn's COTM, and was much happier with that: same price, better quality cigars. Unfortunately, I don't smoke cigars frequently enough to keep up, and paused it. I'd go back to that one, though.

Thanks Joe. Really appreciate the info. I live in Pennsylvania and Holts is about 90 mins away. I do plan on visiting one day and did consider their COTM because for some it seems to be a really good option. I really love their YouTube videos. Maz and Focch are made for making YouTube content. They’re hilarious. Smoke inn had just as many positive comments as Small Batch from what I’ve read. Probably even more. So they were definitely on the short list. I may end up signing up with them too. Maybe compare the 2 for a while and drop one or the other. I also hear Liga Privada COTM is really good. The guy that runs that outfit actually buys tons of small batch and rare stuff then ages it in a couple hundred big Yeti coolers he keeps in his own little warehouse. I’d love to try them too. Anyway hopefully you still get to enjoy a smoke now and then. Be it pipes or cigars. Cheers bud. 🍻

I don't belong to a monthly delivery club but if I did it would be small batch. Pretty much all my buying lately done through them. Love 'em

Some day I'm going to have to make a trip to PA to visit all the important sites: the cigar and tobacco shops. Holt's would be interesting, and I'd have to visit Boswell's, at very minimum.

Let us know which COTM(s) you end up joining, and how you like them!
