From what I understand, it's technically a Sasieni but not a "collectable one. It's made by the company but without the "dots" on the stem, I think it may be considered a second.

Sasieni, like Comoy, downstreamed their lesser quality wood through lines of 2nds, 3rds, 4ths, etc. This is one of those.
Some of those had a name for the line, like “Ivory”, Mayfair, etc. The lowest grades didn’t get a “made by Sasieni” stamp.

Thanks for the useful folks, I will skip this one, I want my first sasieni to be a bit special, or at least not be a second, or third...

For something special, watch out for 1, 4, or 8 dot stems, swash “s” logo, “SPECIALLY SELECTED”, plus condition. The pre war swash s logo stamps were so shallow that most of them wore down, becoming illegible. Finding crisp nomenclature is special. Finding an early Viscount Lascelles that is still shaped like a swans neck is special. That pre war period is when Sasieni made its reputation.

Take note on Patent era Sasienis - the stems are threaded for a screw-in stinger. I've had both Parent and plus-1946 era Sasienis. The stem work is identical (slim buttons, "clicky" vulcanite). But I found with Patent pipes that have the stinger (most do not), the draw is somewhat restricted. With the stinger removed, the draw for my taste, is just too wide open. So I prefer the Four Dot town era pipes (no Patent number) for smoking.

Fwiw, I just saw a pair of Four Dot, family era, town named pipes at Paul's Pipe Shop in Flint, MI. A 'Cambridge' and a 'Pembroke' both with chair leg stems and a M stamp on the nomenclature. I have never seen the like before. I passed, because although they were rather clean, I didn't mesh with the aesthetic, and he wanted $120 each (on sale).

The Pembroke looks pretty similar to what is above, with nicer rustication, the Cambridge was a Natural.

They also had some nice family era Two Dots.

I missed the perfect first Sasieni for me - I saw it on Pupver's - 8 dot bent Rhodesian... It's was just perfect, but reserved... I swear it proves impossible for me to buy a pipe from there.

Maybe contact Marty directly and let him know what you're looking for. He knows a lot of collectors, and he may get something in that fits your needs. I've done that in the past.

Write him and tell him what you're looking for. He's a great guy.

The pipe you are showing originally had this logo on the stem: " - S - " it is a common marking found on this type of pipe.

If it's not too late to enter this discussion, I think that, as someone said in an earlier post, this very closely resembles the Old England Rustic pipe with a military mount. I first saw this Old England pipe that cloesly resenbles yours in an ad in the journal "Tobacco" from October 1972 (I'll try to find it and post it later). In the two sources I have that date after that, a Price List from 1976 and a pamphlet from 1979-81 is does not appear. While I cannot say that these sources definitely includes all available Sasieni pipes from this era, it's still reasonable to conclude that your pipe is perhaps a second from the Sasieni Old England subsidiary brand and likely dates from 1972-75. IT's a second because it doesn't have the Old England name stamped on it (unless, of course, it has been polished into oblivion by over-zealous collectors). For more information on Sasieni's and their subsidiary brands, there is a new article on "Pipedia." Happy Thanksgiving to all Readers and Posters on this great website!
