I just noticed an alert on eBay about potential extra charges on a pipe from an English seller. Bummer. You won’t know the actual expense until you get the customs charges.

Just use Pitney-Bowes as the shipper and it won't cost a thing.
My experience with two items shipped from abroad. One shipped DHL arrived in USA timely. I checked the tracking and it said it was being held up because of a pending fee. I went on their website, and paid the fee. Three days later the shipment continued and I received the item. Second item shipped via UPS. It has been held up in Newark since early September with FDA so I’m told. Seems there is a big backlog. No notice of fees yet and nothing on the website. You can barely get in contact with a human being, very frustrating. If you purchase from another country make sure they ship with DHL or you may be sorry. Also all these shipping companies will charge a brokerage fee in addition to the tariff fee.
Aren’t they connected with eBay’s Global Shipping, otherwise known as eBay’s Global Pipe Seizing And Destroying?

I had this problem myself ordering a pipe. The whole state postal system in 25-30 countries won't ship to the US. I believe private shipping, and commercial is fine.Some people are ordering other things like computers for $400 AND then being billed $1600 by the end of it or they won't get their packages from the post office. Things like how much aluminum and copper weight is in the alloys are being used to calculate tariffs in that case. Sellers are being asked questions about products they've never considered or don't know.
Check whichever country something is shipping out from. Looks like Germany and Australia post figured out how to do it from a quick search back in September.

Just got first hand information email from EU company about the shipment through customs to States. For what it’s worth.

I just placed an order yesterday from them as well, but then cancelled, then decided what the hell lets try it and see what happens so i dont know if it is going to go through or not. But thanks for sharing the info you've got so far, much appreciated. Ive wanted to try snuff for a while.

My order this week (Monday) from Mr Snuff in England has arrived state side. It’s cleared customs and already has a USPS tracking #.
Now that’s pretty quick. Maybe the shipping/tarrifs $ helped speed up the process but so far it all seems on track.
