It doesn't autoplay. I mean the instagram/ Youtube thing works but then I have to upload the video there and some of the things I want to just share with forum members and I am trying to avoid a self promotion situation.
You can upload a video as "unlisted" on YouTube which will hide it from your channel.

Have you tried imgur, I think it supports videos? There are some other options here: BB codes - https://pipesmagazine.com/forums/help/bb-codes/#media

Thanks that's useful. The thing is that sometimes someone ask a question and I would love to answer in a 10-20 seconds video instead of writing and taking a bunch of photos, but this only works if it's fast and easy, even a simple extra step is enough to make me not wanna do it anymore...
It could be really beneficial for a lot of the beginner questions.

I crop mine to squares, then go around 1mb each when uploading.
I know the site will throttle bandwidth from there, but it makes transmitting faster and easier if pot connections (I do everything on my phone, ye olde laptop hasn’t been cracked open in almost 10 yrs).
I’m no tech savvy guy, I just do what makes sense and seems to work well over the years on many forum platforms.

That's what I do now, either square crop, 05x camera or macro work fine

Re photo size/resolution limits, it certainly makes sense that the forum enforces them, no one wants to store unlimited files for free.

However, with modern web technology, there is no need to make the user prepare photos to meet the size/resolution criteria before uploading. Instead, what the site could do is to automatically perform the necessary downscaling or compressing during image upload. A more advanced upload tool could even offer capabilities like cropping, in-browser.

That's what I was hoping for when I posted this, some kind of easy, cheap/free solution to a minor inconvenience

My thread wasn't meant to be a complaint in the hopes the guys buy extra hard drives, it was in case it was a troubleshooting issue, bug or as I said previously a couple of clicks solution.
My apolgies, then. This has been a recurring theme here over the years. Was a time not too long ago when this site didn’t host photos at all. You had post off site and insert links.

This Falls under the whining category for sure, but I still want to share. I feel the new 5 photo limit to be quite restrictive, in addition there is a photo size limit that I can't figure out - sometimes it's triggered by the file size and sometimes by the resolution. Could someone share what exactly the limitation is set to and maybe bump it up a little bit. It's particularly annoying when it tells me that a regular photo taken from the main camera of an IPhone 16 is too big and I have to go and crop it down.
Last but not least, on almost every post I try to use the batch insert function, at least one photo doesn't show properly and I have to delete all of the photos and insert them one by one.
A simple video upload function would also be a game changer for the forum I think. Maybe just limited to 30 or 60s.
I just saw this now.

I recently made changes as there was a member uploading an insane amount of photos.

He shouldn't be an issue now.

I made a note to go back and look at it and make changes. I don't remember what the settings were, but I'll loosen it up some.

Thank you! That problematic member wasn't me right?😬 I tend to post a bit photo heavy.

The 5-photo limit is annoying, especially when iPhone pics are flagged for size even though they’re normal. I ended up resizing a few manually just to get them to upload. Batch insert is hit or miss for me too—sometimes one pic fails and I have to redo the whole thing. I’ve had better luck keeping a few images on https://www.nixplay.com/ digital picture frames first, then grabbing the right size from there.
The limit is 15, not five.

I never even considered the number of photos I post being an issue. Photos are often included in regular posts. Must have had a good deal of pipes to show 😂.

I just uploaded three on the mustard thread! I knew I enjoyed my mustard too much. Lol.
