I don't know the guy at all but you just appear to be unreasonable. Guy just started a small business and does not want to send you four tins for the price of two. Again, I get dented tins all the time from big retailers and don't bother contacting them but let me know if you find anyone that's giving out free tobacco for little dents in tins.

Well, I commented here bc of the lack of customer service and personal responsibility on the sellers end. My concern is that I plan to cellar these and that they are now less likely to keep seal long term compared to undented tins. Kyle Said in an earlier email that he would ship the new two tins right away And that I can ship the damaged ones at my earliest convenience. Then he followed up hours later that he wanted to dented tins back first and then he’ll ship the new tins. I want everyone here to see when purchasing from nova that if they make a mistake they don’t take responsibility. Had he said in his email, so sorry I was in a rush to get to the post office before it closed and I must have missed the packaging, I would have said, you know what don’t worry about it, I’ll take my chances on these, no problem

Is this the fourth time you’ve posted this? You lied about problems with recent orders, you stooped to insulting his family, God save any retailer from jerks for customers.

I clearly stated my first order was good and this is the second order. If an extra s was on a single word does that mean I’m lying? I said my second order and that the first order was good. I didn’t say anything bad about his family I commented that whoever packaged this tin, one of his family members, or an employee. He’s obviously a friend of yours or something.

I wasn’t saying that to you I was saying it to the Hawkeye guy. Again this is not about free tobacco and had he taken Responsibility for the lack of packaging I would have said don’t worry about it and just taken my chances on these tins

Do you think I’m in the wrong for expecting an apology for the lack of packaging? If it was 100 tins would it make the premise more compelling? I feel even if it was 1 tin that was packaged like this it would warrant an apology. It’s not about the money, it’s about the premise

You’re just digging yourself a bigger hole here. He offered to replace the tins. What more do you want? You seriously expected them to send tins without you sending the damaged ones first and you wanted an apology on top of that? Not sure where you buy ANYTHING from but I don’t know any retailer who will just send you replacements out without evidence of the damaged items first. On top of everything, you’ve only purchased a couple of things from him. It’s not like you have a track record with years of purchases. Sounds to me like they did everything possible to make things right and you’re just being difficult.

yes, for responsibility to be taken For the poor packaging. Rather than just saying “we take packaging very seriously”. The ball was dropped on this and tins got damaged. Acknowledging that the packaging on this was not existent would have solved everything, correct

I’ve been spending money with SP literally since the month they went online. I never opened an account, haven’t done that anywhere except Watch City.
When SP has something I need, I buy it.
Why the rumpus over discounts? If you need it, buy it.

I'll chime in. I've been buying from Sykes (smoking pipes) for nearly 30 years. 100% reliable. I don't pay attention to the badges. Nice idea for some but I don't have the to pay attention.

And because jpberg mentioned it...I buy from Ernie as well @ watch City... because he's a neighbor, and he's hilarious. And Peretti because they have a nicer staff nowadays. I've never had a problem with these outfits.

On smoking pipes, I had a teeny tiny issue a few years back. They kept sending me the wrong cigars. The right brand...wrong ring gauge. I was dealing with the most charming woman their customer service and I tell you they sent the wrong cigars...twice. She and I had a laugh. She never charged me for the wrong shipments...and didn't ask for them back. Third shipment they got it right. And the prices...they are fine. Service matters.

I get it. Prices are going up, perks are changing. But solid tobacco shops are very much appreciated by me. The alternative is a bummer.
