Basically, yes. I would call it a "charring" but it will blacken as you break it in. That said, don't puff it hard down to the dregs each time because you "can" burn that stem section too much if you go crazy with it.
Good morning, or whatever time of day it is wherever you fine folks are at now. I started my morning with my home blend of C&D Red VA Ribbon and granulated Perique in my Cob of Cobs. I’m catching myself feeling good this morning, the dog sat next to me on the porch while I smoked and read emails, he didn’t even chase the cats that walked past. The illusion of order and harmony has descended upon our little corner of the world, and I’ll be damned if I’m going to scare it off!
Still on vacation for a few more days. Smoked some gifted Esoterica Dorchester in the Radice this morning with some Mariage Frères tea that I picked up in Paris in the spring. The chipmunk is getting a bit greedy and crazy - climbed up on my wife this morning! Maybe I should be more careful!

Spending my lunch break with the Country Squire’s Secret Blend 55-1 in a Gatlinburlier Bulldog. Once I got it burning (was pretty moist out of the bag), I’m finding it very interesting. My palate is unrefined but I know what I like. I like this. Topo Chico to drink.
