I haven’t broke down and bought Mylar yet, but I will. I’ve got probably 20 or so pound bags that I’m going to just seal as is inside Mylar (I think they’d fit in the 2gallon gusseted versions).
Other bulks I’ve just vacuum sealed the bulk bags in food saver type bags to drop in a tote until I get around to Mylar.
I’m not really looking to add to the 60-70 jars (8-32oz) I’ve already got.

I was hesitant to try Mylar but some here talked about how it simplified things when moving to a new house. Plus, Mylar is less expensive than jars. I hope to retire soon and we may move. I have four dozen 4 and 8 oz jars, and 12 one quart jars. I don’t want to deal with more than that if we move. I will not refill the quart jars as I empty them. I bought 7 mil one quart bags for storing bulk. It is working well. When I open a Mylar bag I put the tobacco into jars for day to day use. I may experiment with smaller bags. I like your idea of putting the D&R bags straight into Mylar for future processing. I may give that a try.

I keep frozen peeled garlic on hand for cooking, Usually buy it in a 5 pound plastic jar. A few years back I got a killer deal on 8"x8" Mylar ziploc ESD bags. So, pretty thin, aluminized Mylar (not laminate). We keep the garlic cloves in them and I've never smelled garlic in the freezer, or had ice cubes pick up the scent. Again, the weak spot is the ziploc. You can only open and close them so many times before they get wonky. Haven't been able to find these bags for a couple of years now.

I can attest to Mylar being an excellent choice for long term storage. I recently opened a 22 year old Mylar bag of Haddo’s Delight and it’s aged far better than the tins
What were the conditions in which you kept the Mylar contents?
Vacuum sealed?
Tossed in loose then sealed without vacuum sealing?
Etc.

It was heat sealed, tight packed, but not vacuum packed. This is original commercial packaging. What it lacks is the bit of "offness" that C&D's crappy tins of that period imparted to its contents.

Out of curiosity have you ever vacuum sealed tobacco into Mylar? If so any experience to share on that?

the cheapness is strong in the crowd. I am enjoying it.

One of the posts says that a mere 6 months of being left in the closet can truly make something nice happen in these blends.

How do you negotiate the bag to find the production date?
