I haven’t been buying tobacco for a while now but I like all the other SB offerings and after reading Jim’s review I decided to get some. Fruity, floral, elderflower, tequila amped up orientals and more of a nicotine hit- I’m intrigued.

I mean, I planned to pick up two tins, lost track of time, noticed the time 2.5 hours after release, get on SP, no queue and Sun Bear was still available.

Glad I grabbed some, the first version is what got me back into the hobby.
I had no problem ordering 1.5 hours after the release.
All gone now. I was on the fence about buying some. The masses made my decision for me.
I got distracted while loading my cart to get to free shipping, and missed out on getting even two tins. Oh well, it wasn’t terribly appealing to me on reading the review, but I was willing to give it a try. Now I have more money to spend at NASPC.

I managed to snag 2 tins after about 25 minutes in line. Based on Jim’s review it sounds like I’ll enjoy the one tin that I will try fresh. The next one I will stash for a while.
It does look darker, but I think they used the red Va. in the same amount as usual.I was on right at the start also and it was a pain just from the demand surge... but with it being now +4 hours from prime time drop and still in stock at multiple vendors it seems the 20k cans will be sufficient for anyone who reasonably wants it. In the blog post Jeremy basically said that this one and Carolina Red are basically the top 2 for demand by a pretty large margin vs the others.
@JimInks Good review! Would you say/do you know if they used more Red VA in it this year vs other iterations? (prob to bolster the cask sweetness) I remember it always being very bright/oriental forward but looks and seems a bit darker this year.
Either way I'm happy for one of my last favorite still in production smokes coming back around

It's usually one and done until the next iteration. I missed out.
It does have a notify button on it. A few times I have seen limited editions be restocked later. Whether intentional or because of returned stock, etc. Can never hurt to set up an alert.
Also P&C usually releases theres days or weeks after the official drop.. fwiw, good luck!

WCC apparently had it and sold out faster than SP (no surprise, SP probably had way more tins than WCC), and their limit was 4 per customer.
I mean there's no doubt to me SP got far more to sell than any other retailer, but I won't even try to guess the ratios, I don't even know how many retailers got orders.
I waited in line also. By the time I could place the order they were sold out.
But at least you got 16 ounces.
Me too. When these small batch drops happen, I've never ended up in a waiting room queue before. I'd just go to SP and order.
Not complaining though. In the waiting room SP displayed an image of a man smoking a pipe reclining in a chair. I took the hint and I put up my feet and lit a pipe. It was a very short wait.
Had it not been for the rum cask treatment, I probably would have passed. I still have a couple of tins of each year of release, so I guess I like SB, but don’t love it. I’m a sucker for rum anything, however, so I picked some up.
