Insomniac night . . . woke up about 5 and couldn't get back to sleep. No particular reason. Happens on occasion.
Home mixers, failed or not, you might want to take note of this skippable drivel before the
Skippable Drivel below this text.
But first, the smokes of yesterday. There weren't any. Finally got the "curse" after all that breaking in of pipes, and am currently doing at least two days of "chew". But there's a twist to this, as I'm currently enjoying a wad of
Smokers' Pride Black Cavendish. I mean, really enjoying it. It's even better than SWR as a chew - a very pronounced chocolate taste, so much so that I'm already preparing a homemix of this tobacco, ground up Phillies Blunt Chocolate cigars, with the addition of some sweet, home grown oriental leaf. Test batch in the bag, and will report on it as soon as I try it after a few days of quick curing.
And this is a solid indication that my tastebuds are starting to return. Even enjoying some foods right now, lol. And this chew.
Skippable Drivel: Don't usually post a pipe here until I own it, and then I usually post it in the "New Pipes" thread. But I'm making an exception here, and giving you a first look at my new pending arrival.
I have a lot of short pipes, and a lot of longstems, but needed a couple of "Mama Bears" to fit in between. I have only my "Little Pete" and a couple of shorty medium McQueens that fit into this company. I'm so impressed with the Little Pete that I decided to spurge on this Peterson Tavern Pipe in a Rhodesian Bowl, 'cause who doesn't want another Pete? Great pipes, and I'm expecting the same excellence from this pending arrival as from my current pair. (Also have the System Standard Bent), one of my largest pipes. Anyone else have this Tavern Pipe? It's made in several configurations, but I've always loved Rhodesian bowls. It's 7 1/2 " long according to the description. Might be the perfect small bowl pipe. Lifted the picture from the website.
