The wife and I drove up to Duluth from Saint Paul, today. Just a little day getaway. I smoked EMP in various pipes most of the day, except for one pipeful of half and half. I caught a good picture of the sunset on the way home out of the car window, while going down the road. Currently relaxing at home with some Robert Mcconnell Scottish Flake in a Peterson Donegal Rocky 68.View attachment 403424View attachment 403425
That was the first pipe I bought, still a solid feel in the hand and a good smoker!

Couldn't sleep, so I'm up and am a quarter of the way through this bowl of year 2021 Watch City Queequeg’s Moby Dick Series in a slight bend smooth brown post WWII 1940s Sasieni Ivory 101 Westminster diplomat with a black vulcanite saddle stem. Fed all the ferals except for Tomato the Brave who could be anywhere. Abner the Eager is the only one inside, and he hid for a snooze after he ate. Reading while this bowl lasts.

McClelland 2000 in this Bullfrog Eskimo Gumnut -

Seeing all this misguided dialogue around aromatics recently really got me craving a good bowl. McC 2000 is a well-aged virginia broken flake topped (cased?) with a subtle caramel/nougat flavor. It might be because of the mason jar aging but smoking it now you can hardly tell it's an aromatic if you weren't informed, there's definitely a faint caramel sweetness to the blend but it works complimentary with the aged virginias as opposed to modern aromatics that often use an aggressively sweet topping to cover some lesser quality leaves.

(Since people were asking the last time I posted a picture of it, this is an Al Pascia leather pipe stand - kinda ridiculously expensive but a gorgeous sofa for your briar :ROFLMAO: )

Getting a late start to the day with a bowl of year 2024 Edward G. Robinson's Pipe Blend in a 2014 Basil Meadows smooth slight bend squashed tomato with an aluminum band and a black pearl acrylic stem in the military mount style. Ice water and bergs is my drink.

For the moment, smelling some tobaccos, to see how my covid-torpedoed sense of smell is progressing. I begin slightly to notice some nuances, grass and that smell of freshly baked bread and stewed red fruits, but very slight. I think it is still early to smoke. I miss smoking a lot. My younger brother was also hunted by the covid a few days ago. Enjoy your smokes, it makes me happy to see your comments, and you smoke your favorite tobaccos. God bless you all.images.jpg

Did a set of walking reps on this hot and humid day, and am not far from finishing this bowl of year 2016 D&R Three Sails in a slight bent black pattern etched 1977 Lorenzo Lorsan Sigma level top billiard with a gray swirl acrylic saddle stem. All of the ferals are outside, and in the shade.
