A true crumble cake, which is fun to play with. Jam some chunks into your bowl, or rub it out into a nice fine shag, or whatever. Burns beautifully, few if any relights, stays consistent all the way down. But it's just not for me. I gave it two stars on TR many years ago. It's been in the jar ever since, still in good shape, perfect humidity, so I know it's not just because it's too dry. The main sensation is sour and tangy, which some people like. Not me. Yes, there is some slight sweetness, a lot of grass (dried out hay in a hayloft). Sipping very carefully makes it a little more palatable, and I do believe the age has helped, so I would now give it two and a half stars. It's a well-made tobacco with quality ingredients, just not my style. Hardcore Virginia junkies would probably love it. Jarred in 2009.

I actually love the marble cake. When the stuliff dump happened, I ordered as much marble cake as I could. They didn't have a whole lot and it never restocked. Then I ordered Anniversary cake. Both are cellared. I kept out a pound of Anniversary cake that I smoke in rotation. Memory serves me correctly sometimes, and I believe i liked the Marble Cake more than the Anniversary cake.

I love half a bowl of marble cake every long often. I agree, for myself as well there is a unique kind of twang that doesn’t finish great but I do adore a little once in a while. Great crumble fun and much more interesting than AK in my mind.

Great sessions, even if just half a bowl. 🤓

I’ve enjoyed Marble Kake, and I put away quite a bit. It is a bit subtle, and there are Virginias that are just more interesting. Lately, however, I’ve discovered that it’s an excellent blending tobacco

I like Marble Kake, but I stocked up on the Burley Kake. Something magical about that one. It's the only tobacco, except maybe Sutliff Match Victorian, that I'll miss from the Sutliff closure. But I have about a pound and a half of it, as well as two bags of the Victorian, tucked away.

Grabbed a pound of Burley kake as soon as I heard it might disappear, wish I'd gotten more. Love it but learning to smoke it sparingly.
