A true crumble cake, which is fun to play with. Jam some chunks into your bowl, or rub it out into a nice fine shag, or whatever. Burns beautifully, few if any relights, stays consistent all the way down. But it's just not for me. I gave it two stars on TR many years ago. It's been in the jar ever since, still in good shape, perfect humidity, so I know it's not just because it's too dry. The main sensation is sour and tangy, which some people like. Not me. Yes, there is some slight sweetness, a lot of grass (dried out hay in a hayloft). Sipping very carefully makes it a little more palatable, and I do believe the age has helped, so I would now give it two and a half stars. It's a well-made tobacco with quality ingredients, just not my style. Hardcore Virginia junkies would probably love it. Jarred in 2009.
