Thanks, I never knew that.Depends on the staining. Some stains cost more so it's reflected in the price.
I thought it was oxblood?.. virgin oxes? The blood of virgins comes at a price.
Wisdom comes with age; Now that I'm older I can definitely say I know squat !Back then I was new to pipes and didn’t know squat

Thanks, I just noticed that the red pipe appears to have a pre carbonated chamber. Could that be the additional cost? The blasts look similar.

I'm betting it's because red has a chamber coating. Some artisans charge extra for it. Or it could be a marketing tactic to sell out the red ones.
Omg, I just saw a movie with Grace Kelly and James Stewart yesterday, Rear Window (1954). Wow, she was so beautifulThink of a stain (or sandblasting or rustication or varnish) on a pipe like make up on a beautful woman.
The better they look without any, the more they cost.

I’ve read somewhere if you marry an ugly woman you’ll be happy all your life.
Maybe they’re right.
But you’d just spend the money you save on a hairy legged boy or something else.
I look at smooth pipes like that. Always more attractive sandblasted.Think of a stain (or sandblasting or rustication or varnish) on a pipe like make up on a beautful woman.
It could. Some, myself included, think a pipe with no chamber coating looks incomplete. Thanks, I just noticed that the red pipe appears to have a pre carbonated chamber. Could that be the additional cost?

Really? I would pay more NOT TO have a chamber coating! The blasts look similar.

Absolutely. Just as I'd pay more for a good sandblasted pipe versus a smooth one. Smooth with no chamber coating just looks like incomplete work. Getting the consistency and application of the coating is nearly an art as staining is.Really?
