Just got back from a few days in Seattle: part business, part pleasure. It's always nice to get back to the smoking lounge variety and the briars after time travelling with a short selection of tins and meers. Kicking back for a few with a bowl of Virginia Oriental Flake in a Radice Pure after a few errands in town.

Was able to swing by my mom's yesterday and finish up the lighthouse installation for part of her garden decore which i started for Mother's Day. Had to strip the forms and place the "sea wall" rock around the base. Still needs a couple clear coats for longevity out in the elements, but turned out well. She's mentioned wanting something like this ever since i built her the house in 2023.

Indeed. I was thinking of building one out of wood products in the shop, but alas time became the constraint, so i bought the pots and went straight to the painting. Filled the bottom pot with concrete and an anchor bolt. Picked up a solar garden light for the top. Poured the little slab in place the day of and set it with the shells embedded. We gathered the shells from Jacksonville, Pensacola and Galveston beaches together on our last trip down south a month or so ago. The ballast stone were leftovers from when i was doing the dirt work while building the house originally. She's happy. But she's always got one more project on the horizon. haha Next one will be a pergola for her vines...

Dunhill My Mixture 965 from 2015 in my Hardcastle Royal Bruyere billiard.

I haven’t smoked English blends in quite awhile, but picked the 965 this afternoon. It has a nice room note, and is an old favorite of mine. I believe it has improved with age. I have a new can of the Peterson production which I may open tomorrow for comparison.

While looking through my pipes today, I remembered that I DO have another aromatic pipe. Last year I cleaned up this EXTREMELY grungy Darnley pipe. It was made in England and is shape number 814T....thats all I know. This was maybe one of the dirtiest pipes I ever found in sn ebay lot. But, under the grime was a neat looking and great smoking pipe. I'm currently smoking Cult BRM in it....again today. :)

Nice work on the ornament judging from the siding on the house that I can see, it's pretty meticulous, as would be the rest of the home as well. Very envious of those with practical skills! 👍 👍
