I Finally Smoked Mixture 79

Having smoked Holly’s Non Plus Ultra and survived it, I decided to give the much dreaded and maligned Mixture 79 a try.

I survived it as well. The toppings having been laid on with a trowel, it’s a bit like smoking a patent medicine. The combination of potent flavorings is a bit discordant, but not awful. I’m acclimating to it. Will definitely try another bowl of two of it.

In life, one has to take risks from time to time…

Do so, but be warned... I've heard that acclimating to it can change your whole sense of aesthetic tastes. Next thing you know, you'll be craving Captain Black Grape, and blending Penzance with !Q.

Geez, not my experience at all, I found Mixture 79 to be a mild and actually delightful blend, and load a bowl every now and again.

Now I'm starting to question the hate for Non Plus Ultra...

I find it to be strange but not bad... I have a few pounds of it, and I get on a Mixture 79 kick every month or two.

My only real complaint is that it's as weak as puppy piss. Sometimes I need a blend like that when I've overdone it with nicotine, but I want to keep smoking.
