Not a burley fan, but I love the Sportsmans! At kiddo's soccer practice, trying Eight State Burley for the first time in my Sportsman 69.

I had to pick up a blasted J07 when I saw the grain too! It’s waiting in the wings…View attachment 387592
Using this Ropp JO7 to burn some yummy C&D Red VA Ribbon and C&D VA Flake blended together 50/50.
Love the blast on this pipe but I wish they gave it one more round in the machine for a little more depth.
That’s ok though, it was $55 and I love it.

Happy belated birthday man! Hope you had some good smokes! It's my birthday! I took the day off cause I just needed it and while I expected to spend the day farting around and smoking pipes other plans happened. An excellent birthday though.
Anyhow I'm wrapping up my day with my old faithful blend, GLP Cumberland in a full bent Peterson. Finally seeing some warmer weather so I'll be breaking out and breaking in some new pipes.
Happy birthday gord!Well, I'm now officially the 3rd longest living male on either side of the family, and I'll tie my cousin Wally next year on this same date as tied for 2nd. Yup, made it to 74 today. Celebrated my wakeup with my favourite small cigar, a Colt Whiskey, and after a few chores, I'll be gone most of the day - unwanted festivities and extravaganzas, as you'd expect)
Lot's to talk about in the following picture, my upcoming late morning or early evening puff, and I'll explain all of it in an upcoming late night post about my evening smoke in the eminently verbose and unnecessary "Skippable Drivel."
That's a really nice "matched pair" (!) ... have to be a source of pride in ownership.Afternoon lineup. Freshly cleaned, thanks to Costco vodka and paper towels, charred and ready to go. The Beast in a billiard and lovat.

Glad you’re back and feeling better! Two weeks ago I took my son to Milwaukee for some college visits, and came back with a nasty bug which has kept me homebound and tobacco free for the past 10 days. Last night I dreamt that I was eating some thin, flat beef jerky, then looked down and realized that they were actually burley flake.
Now that I have successfully passed the virus along to my wife and son, I’m feeling well enough to sit outside for a few minutes with a pipe, in this case a Falcon with some Kendal #7.

I guess the unexpected (and undesired) abstinence has reset my taste buds, or maybe I started to forget how good pipe tobacco can taste, but this is extremely good today. I’ve missed it.
