I know that one thing I'll never do is be able to spell squirrel correctly without spell check or a dictionary. Any basic mostly insignificant skills or tasks you know it's not even worth attempting to over come?

same here. Also you're more likely to run into those people that are terminally upbeat and positive. Those people get up early. Which is enough to make me suspect it's bad for your brain to do that.

I think the only people that can are alcoholics who were Boy Scouts and took that motto seriously, the always be prepared part.
I've never tried that. So no opinion. But sometimes with cuisine there are weird little tricks that are so culturally engrained they don't feel a need to explain it. I have certainly learned that certain French or Indian dishes I would have not gotten down without the help of a native.

I still have trouble spelling English words correctly. I'm fluent speaking but some of these words are hard.

What about when the screw is upside down?
I’m embarrassed to admit it but I stumble over pronouncing ‘Herb’ when it should be ‘erb’ and vice versa. I know the difference between the words’ meanings and spellings but for some reason I confuse their pronunciation.
