I really enjoy smoking the clay while reading “1776”, think I’m going to get a smaller one like yours. They can get hot, I do enjoy rediscovering old pipes and tobacco’s you’ve forgotten.Pure Virginia in my first clay, some random smaller pipe from smoking pipes for 8 bucks.
I’m hoping there’s a break in time for new clays as this leaving a chalky effect on the tongue… but, this is the best taste I’ve been able to get out of hh pure Virginia, which is hard because it’s already one of my favorites!

This yellow Bakelite has really darkened with age and use- it's more of an amber now.
