Though short lived, it was looking pretty epic. You should've kept the 'stache! I get it though, my facial hair is often up for discussion in my household.
Thanks man. Yeah the wife doesn’t mind the beard at all but I guess the ‘stache is when she decides to speak up. My 5 year old daughter chiming in didn’t help. LOL. Maybe when my newborn son is older he’ll stick up for the ‘stache.

Almost finished smoking year 2014 Esoterica Tilbury in a straight smooth Danish gold straight grain undated W.O. Larsen Hand Made in Denmark dublin with a tapered black vulcanite stem. This pipe is from the estate of David Cuneo. Ice water and bergs is my drink.

Interesting development in my smoking journey . . . . Last night ended with an extended smoke in my Savinelli Avorio, with a full bowl of TobaccoBarn's Bing Cherry, a pretty reasonable facsimile of the better known CAO Cherry Bomb.

I quite enjoy cherry aromatics, and smoke the several varieties I have a couple or three times a week. The Avorio has a very large bowl, comparable to my Peterson System Standard P-Lip, which was the only pipe to this point I've exceeded 2 hours with. Not now. Drew a full 2 hours and 5 minutes with the night's smoke.

Yeah, my slow smoking has improved. Getting there. However, while the first hour was completely delightful, I lost interest in the smoke after that. Was just seeing how long I could make the thing last. There was still unsmoked dottle in the pipe when I finally put up the white flag. Just wasn't enjoying it although the flavour remained of the same stellar nature.

There is a pattern here, and I'm gravitating almost totally to small and medium size pipes, like my Ropp J07 and the new Peterson. Found the last hour mind numbingly boring. Which leads to a conundrum. The Avorio, Peterson System Standard, my big Tundra, and a few others, are being ignored. And they are great smoking pipes. Unless I'm watching a full opera, they're going to remain ignored. I'll woefully have to start smoking half-bowls I suppose. Any suggestions? These are wonderful pipes that should be smoked on a regular basis.

I cut my beard yesterday and left the ‘stache… wife and daughter hated it. LOL. Ended up going clean shaven. Can’t win em all, boys.
Ya actually look best plain. Too much like Groucho Marx in t'other one. Plain makes you look like a doctor . . . . . hmmmmmm . . . . maybe that's not better? 🤨
