I’ve been ordering from SP for years, and the orders always seem to breeze through the USPS. Not so with other people I’ve ordered from.

A priority package that takes a day or two tops from SP always seems to take several days from other sources.

And for that I’m glad.

Do they have some special relationship with USPS? The rapidity of their shipping is consistent.

I once had a package from them go all the way around the US before it came back to Kentucky but usually only three days.

I'm also impressed (in general) their free shipping outclasses other sources I may order various things from and always have been, they also get things right out the door. Admittedly you have to pay attention to the roast/ship dates with some coffee bean roasters, but one in particular when it finally ships has things just wander their way here. Apparently don't send anything to Canada - something I sent is languishing in customs and I didn't pull any funny business on the declarations and prepaid everything USPS or Canada let me prepay.

It seems like they are pretty quick . I sometimes have trouble navigating their site though . Not sure if it's because I'm not a member or what .

I had a pipe shipment with a similar set of delays. Watching the tracking had me scratching my head when at first i thought it was going to a wrong address as it got closer, then farther away. After some back and forth with the seller and a contact with the shipper, fortunately for my hairline, it eventually got sorted before i got a bald spot.

The soon to be extinct Tobaccopipes.com was every bit as fast and their packing was excellent. Most of my orders from SP have taken anywhere from 4 to 6 days to arrive.
I’ll give you that… Tobaccopipes is fast as well. And they’re in the same area as SP.

Maybe it’s the routing infrastructure that gets them to me faster…

I had an order from SP back around black Friday and I remember folks saying that SP were behind on their orders. I waited over a week before I contacted to ask about my items shipping, and they did inform me that they were slammed with orders. They shipped my order a few days later, and my order receipt was cheaper than it was originally priced. I called to see what might have happened, and they informed me that because of the delay, they had given me free shipping and refunded my shipping fees. They didn't have to do that, but that was awesome.
I placed an order a couple weeks back and I had my items in a few days. SP is awesome.

It varies for me, but for the most part the ship/delivery date is accurate. I used to order from Tobaccopipes also, but I prefer the Smokingpipes box that does not draw attention since it is easier for me to get deliveries at work where tobacco products are forbidden and treated like a shameful vice. Nobody sees anything other than “Sasieni Corp” on the mailing label so I don’t have to get any grief about company policy or get any “That stuff is bad for you talks” from the admin ladies.

Yep, the few experiences I had with TP were good as well. SP seems committed to getting things out and in general they arrive quickly - of course its up to the delivery service from there and if I wanted something faster I could pay for it, but have never needed to. SP EU can be a little trickier but that's more down to getting out of US Customs when something arrives so I don't even bother to "follow" the tracking - they just "surprise" me when they show up.

The shipping delays usually have absolutely nothing to do with smokingpipes.com. I can't remember an order from them that was either shipped the same day or the next.

However, USPS has been the culprit behind several delays. My last order from smokingpipes took 10 days to get delivered because it sat in Dallas for 6 days, 3 days in New Orleans and one day at my local post office.

I have been told that USPS delays are normal from December to February because they are short handed in the processing centers and it takes a month or more to get caught up.

When they used UPS I got packages next day here in NC. Now we’re at the mercy of usps distribution center black holes and other anomalies
