I like many suffer from PAD and I'm always on the hunt for the next pipe to add to my collection. I tend to lean towards older estate pipes. My wife loves to help me hunt pipes at antique stores, estate sales, and of course eBay. I had found my next acquisition on eBay and shared the information with my wife. The auction had run down near the end and I placed my bid for the pipe. I was feeling good that I had the high bid well below my max bid. Suddenly with 8 seconds left I'm out bid by $1 for the pipe I though I had handily just won! I said out loud they must have wanted it worse then me because they paid top dollar for it! My wife then looks at me with a confused face and said but I won the pipe! In disbelief my own wife sniped me at the end of the auction and was super proud of herself for winning me the pipe. As much as I wanted to grumble about overpaying for the pipe I'm just thankful that she supports my passion and hobby of pipe collecting.
