Just found these new plugs available in the UK. Century is the brand and I belive they're manufactured in the US. Anyone know who is making them?
If anyone tries any please let us know what you think.

Jamestown 1607 Plug
Jamestown 1607 Named after the first settlement in Virginia by the English in 1607. The Jamestown Plug is a Latakia based plug with a melange of 10 year old Orange and Red Virginia's pressed and sliced into dense plugs. A Beautifully well rounded plug that would not be out of place on the original tobacco plantations of Jamestown.

Commonwealth 1776 Plug

Merchants Folly Krumble Kake
Merchants Folly Pipe Tobacco is a Krumble Kake tobacco, which is built on a base of Old Belt Red Virginia, which is then enhanced with stoved Cavendish. The blend has been finished with a top dressing of Vanilla and Whiskey for a beautifully well balanced smoke perfect for enjoying in your folly or when you are out pillaging on the high seas.

Pirates Plunder Krumble Kake
Pirates Plunder Pipe Tobacco is a Krumble Kake tobacco, which is built on a base of Matured Virginias, which is then enhanced with earthy Burleys, tangy Cavendish and just a subtle hint of Latakia. The blend has been finished with a top dressing of rich Jamaican Rum for a beautifully well balanced smoke worthy of a pirates plunder.

@smudgersmissingleg @simong @Ahi Ka Do any of you think these would suit the King's Clay??? I think these would suit re-enactment smoking in my Old Dominion Jamestown clay pipe.
@Ahi Ka and @simong think I should be smoking SG Cannon Plug at the English Civil War re-enactments; I'll have to get some twist / plug when I go to see the Sealed Knot again!

No idea mate. I've never smoked a clay or any of these tobaccos. I don't see why not, tho.

Seriously though, great news for UK smokers who’ve never had the opportunity to try American blends before.
Yeah maybe not so much. Plugs they ain’t. Trying to pass them off as such, in the land of plugs, well, on behalf of America, I apologize.
I have no fucking idea who thought this would be a good idea.

Yeah, they're not dense plugs like we're used to over here but I don't care. Any new blend is welcome in the UK at the moment. Last year we lost ALL the Rattray's blends and most of the Mac Baren blends as well. None of the HH line are now available in the UK😔.
So rare that we get new blends in the UK, especially when compared to the US. I look on with envy at all the latest releases State side.

These new Crumble cakes look interesting and I'll definitely be giving some a try even though they're quite expensive and definitely not plugs.

I get that, but you have the real tobacco manufacturer within your borders.

I love Gawith but I also love choice/variety. All the Rattray's blends are now discontinued in the UK which means some of my favourites like Marlin Flake, Bagpiper's Dream and Old Gowrie are no longer available. Same thing goes for Mac Baren and Old Dark Fired. Luckily i've got some in the cellar.

Even when those 2 blenders were available the choice was half what you get in the US. Loads of Rattray's & Mac Baren tobaccos weren't available over here. The UK is such a small market that I guess it wasn't worth their while. The UK pipe tobacco selection wasn't that huge to begin with so losing so many blends was a real hit.

Looking through Tobacco Pipes just blows my mind. So much choice at such great prices.
I wish Cornell and Diehl was available over here. I've only tried Blockade Runner and the original release of Carolina Red Flake but I loved both of those.

Could be worse though. Compared to Australia and Canada we've got it good.

I never heard of Century Tobacco before. This outfit doesn't accept credit cards on international orders.
It's Sutliff that makes them. You're in the US so can probably buy them there. My guess is these are just existing blends rebadged for the UK market. I can't see them going to all the time and effort to produce brand new blends just for us. It could be bespoke but I doubt it. They might not be new blends but they're new to us.

Price aside, this is great news. Thanks for the heads up! I'll definitely be adding the three non-Latakia blends to my next order.

Picaroon sounds like plum pudding bourbon barrel aged and with the exception of Latakia, the Jamestown description reads identical to that of hogshead - I actually half wonder if the blend doesn’t include Latakia and that’s a typo. Lol.

All of this is of course musing from my arm chair on the other side of the world, and so most probably irrelevant
I'm going to find out if that's a typo in a couple of days ;)

Get a refund!! Lol
Haha! It's Hogshead, I think - I read Jim's review from 2022, it seems to match except this is quite dry. Quite likely dates back that far, and this is from bulk which is why. Solid enough smoke and it leaves a nice aftertaste, not so amazing that I'm going to roll around naked in it.
