Savanelli 6mm filter question.

I bought a new Savanelli arcobaleno yesterday and absolutely love it. However my question arises from the salesperson being very adamant that only the 6mm balsa filter should be used. I prefer charcoal filters and I am wondering are these interchangeable despite what the shop told me.

Any 6 mm filter should fit. Unless they messed up the drilling for the filter.

Yes. Savinelli even came out with a line of 6mm charcoal filters when balsa was a scarce resource in 2020.

Works fine, I have both.

Any filter that fits will work.

My old leather tongue doesn’t require a filter now, but the balsa wood filters do work, especially to dry the smoke.

Try all kinds of filters, is my advice.

I don't use filters in all my Savinelli pipes, no problems whatsoever.

Yeah I have a 9 Sal and all 9s fit.

I have a couple of Savinelli and use both balsa and charcoal
Filter fit isn't an issue but the charcoal variety definitely tightens the draw on both

I use those for my 9 mm pipes. Awesome.

I don't use filters in all my Savinelli pipes, no problems whatsoever.

I removed the filter today, first smoke without one. Will not fit one again, experience changing, easy draw, pipe stayed lit and no tongue bite. I'm not saying they don't work but don't seem to suit my technique.
