Keeping a Kiribi Clean

Aloha,

I was wondering for those of you who own a Kiribi, how do you keep it clean? Flint dust makes the top of my light black, and the flame adds even more black silt. This silt is extremely hard to clean off. So I was wondering how do you keep it clean, or even clean them efficiently?

Yep, alcohol. I usually use a pipe cleaner dipped in alcohol.

Haha! I use my zippo far more, but it's far less windy here during the winter months which allows me to use butane.

Nothing wrong with Kiribi. But I keep dropping it. And dings don't look as good on Kiribi like Zippo.

Thankfully mines is still drop free

My zippo and my old boy get a dry pipe cleaner every 6 months or so to clean the soot. Easy process.

I swear I drop my old boy the most. Always forget that one in my lap.

I never had that problem with my Kiribi, but alcohol and a Q-tip should clean it right up.

I have 2 Kiribis. Over time they have developed leaks in the valve and don’t hold pressure. One was sent back under warranty and replaced - lost the replacement.

Mostly use a Bic or one of my Beatties nowadays.
