I have a couple of pipes that were ride alongs in a box of estate pipes I bought a number of years ago. They both bear the same markings, "Super Grain" on one side and "Made in London" forming a circle over "England". Nothing appears on either stem.

I know the circular Made in London over England was used by Comoy's on a number of lines but they always had another identifying marker.

They have beautiful grain but badly need refinishing. The pictures don't do them justice.

Just seconds they didn't bother stamping?

either seconds or the stamping wore off. I've seen stamping wear off a pipe from just being handle a lot. Now not likely and I wonder how they did it. But stamping can certainly disappear without leaving obvious damage sometimes.

Several companies made a "super grain" stamping or something close to it. Kaywoodie made a model with that brand. If yours doesn't have a model number, it probably isn't a Comoy's, who usually stamped seconds as well as firsts.

Chuck hasn't been active for some months.

I have a couple of Comoy seconds stamped "Special Straight Grain" and "Selected Straight Grain"
These grades are mentioned in Pipedia, but not "Super Grain"
Mine don't have COM stamps nor the 3-part C on the stems.
