Help with the hallmark identification

Hi,

İ have this antique meerschaum pipe. The silver part has some markings that i can not identify. Can anybody help me to understand what it is?

Just a theory, but, the diamond shaped marks in the second photo look like depressions that could’ve been made by the teeth of pliers (or a wrench) that might’ve been used to help unscrew the stem that was on too tight.

Those are French silver hallmarks - a diamond and a boar head (you do have to use your imagination)
Unlike English silver hallmarks, the French DO NOT have a date letter

Wow i can not identify it as a boar head without your help. İ guess it confirms that part as a silver. Thank you for the information about the hallmarks.
