I don't remember any piece of "computer" being that small in 80's. I remember IBM "luggable" from end of 80's being size of large roll-on suitcase.

I remember back in the late '70s, building my own modem because even the cheapest were in the $$$ price range. Then in the early '80s, bought a KAYPRO 10 "portable" computer for $3,200, running CPM with a...get this...10 mb hard drive and two high density 5.25" floppies!

A little later than this, but I remember in the early 90s, lusting after the computer equipment in the Frys electronics ads. I really wanted that 4gb hard drive that was 500 bucks. Now I don’t even think I own a flash drive that’s as SMALL as 4gb

Wow, you just reactivated something in the distant reaches of the back of my cerebrum that hadn't been accessed in about 25 years. I remember again...the trees that catch fire when you crash into them, the dogs that urinate in the snow...and how could I forget that blasted yeti? Curse him!
