While Zooming with friends, I smoked:

Year 2017 Savinelli Doblone d’Oro in a smooth straight brown early ‘60s Lane era “William Conrad” Charatan Executive Extra Large stretch apple with diagonal channel cuts on the lower right and left of the bowl along with a black vulcanite double comfort saddle stem.

D&R Windsail in an 1890s-early 1900s dark brown smooth straight JD billiard with filigree metal work with an amberish saddle stem and orific bit.

And, I'm close to finishing this bowl of Wilke Lizzie Blood Virginia in a straight black with burgundy undertone sandblasted early 1960s Lane era Charatan 420 billiard with a black vulcanite tapered stem.

So where does this fit with pipes makers of the 19th C. not being interested on grain?
Yes, was wondering if anyone would pick up on that example showing more grain than usual ... as they say, there's always the odd exception.

Preparing to hit the sack with Ogden’s Original Walnut in the Jima and drinking a bottle of Bishops Finger. Don’t ask what a Bishops Finger View attachment 86320smells like...?

If I had one not sure I'd like my fanny ticked by a bishop's finger ...

Relaxing after a wonderful salad, wild caught catfish and sugar snap peas dinner with strawberries for dessert. I'm smoking year 2018 Esoterica Dunbar in a smooth straight, dark brown early 1960s Lane era Charatan Selected 43 Dublin with a black vulcanite double comfort saddle stem. This pipe was formerly owned by actor William Conrad. El Salvador Dali, neat, is my drink. Watching the Cubs-Dodgers game.
