I found his website, @chasingembers is this where you purchased from?

His EBay link is on this site too... ;)

Thanks
I just email or call. He takes commissions too. Also does amber stems.

After a while a meerschaum starts emitting an external smell of the tobaccos that have been smoked in them. Pleasant when cool, extremely pleasant when warm.
My Bekler claw absolutely reeks of Butera Sweet Cavendish when it's warm. Unfortunately I've only got one tin left, fortunately it's pretty much fully colored by now so it's basically retired. At some point I'll pop my last tin and retire it for good.

Do Altinays come with fitted cases or just a bag?

In my experience, it depends on the pipe. I have a few that came with a bag - carbon fiber sitters, and then the Kenan commission came with a fitted case. To be fair, that was a requirement based on how fragile the design was.

If you look at each pipe’s specs, it should show whether it comes with a case or a pouch. In my experience, however, I’ve found him to be very easy to work with. If someone had their eye on a pipe and it not coming with a case was a deal breaker, I’d be willing to bet that by reaching out to him, a case could be made for a slight charge. I can’t verify this because I haven’t tried, but he’s been great to work with over the last few months, stands by his work, and seems to want the customer to be happy in spite of all else. I also wouldn’t think it would take them too long to get a case made, since my commission was done within about a week and required a custom-fitted case.

I hear you about funky and nasty, but to tell you about this from my experience, I probably didn't do the alcohol/bristle cleaner/cleaning for the last five years of my smoking, with never a sour even though I largely smoked the same pipes.

Rusty, from the Christian Pipe Smokers board, said that when he does deep cleaning, he loses flavor, such that his plan was to smoke his pipes until they closed up.
Oh it only happens if I am doing things like smoking the same pipe over and over again without cleaning it at all. Especially if the outside environment is just right. Meers never seem to do that. And that is certainly a plus in a way.

Looking over them I only saw one that fell into my size preference, but at meer prices, a case charge is a deal breaker. I'll stick primarily with IMP.

Back in January Said posted a discount code for the forum...I have no idea if it's still valid, but it was simply:

My meers never leave home, so I don't care about the cases...but they did pester me into getting them a Neal Yarm rack.
