Show Off Your Werner Mummert Pipes

I was at Bruce's one time when Werner was there. Bruce made us lunch on the grill and the two of them proceeded to start throwing ideas about a pipe collaboration. It was like watching two little boys with a new toy. They went to Bruce's shop and turned out a straight sandblasted billiard.........with googly eyes and a matching cyclops tamper.

I'd love to see a photo of that. The two artisan pipes I have are a Bruce Weaver and a Werner Mummert. Both much more conservative than a googly eyed billiard of course...

I thought I'd report back on the smoking qualities of my new Werner Mummert bulldog. The draw is a little less open than my Bruce Weaver lovat, but otherwise it smokes great. It seems American pipes typically have a more open draw than European pipes.

They were buddies. Did pipe making challenges and even worked together on a few pipes. One was a blasted billiard with googly eyes and a matching cyclops tamper. I got to meet Werner at one of Bruce's cookouts. Great couple of fellows.?

Have you been to his house? He had it built from an Escher drawing. It's nearly impossible to get to the front door without falling into the yard and having to start over.
