Did I miss something? If Perique goes the way of Syrian Latakia I swear to go I'll.............uh...........be very goddamn disappointed and you can mark my words on that!

Yes, explanation please! Perfect timing to ruin lots of weekends. I've heard to "beware the ides of March." Is this what that has come to mean all along?
Perique was actually just fermented and aged shavings from Piers Morgan, so when he stormed off the show it became unavailable? ?

Perique is getting substituted with dark fired, which doesn't work. But demised? Don't think so. In any event I've got a few pounds of various Periques that I use in perking up blends, or in blending my own home brews. And I'm pretty much done with stocking up, so I don't care.

I wouldn't take much stock in "insider information" from someone who refers to you as "it" on another forum. 
I can't imagine Dark Fired replacing Perique in anything. I like them both, although prefer dark fired to be condimental at most, but they are completely different flavors to me.
