I find Ropp pipes a great concept, a hunk of natural wood being used as a pipe. However, the two that I had weren't properly made, one an ill-fitting shank making a good fit to the bowl. I sold/gave them away

Too bad we can't do something easy like count the rings on the grain to know how old the pipe is.

The old cherry Ropps are still in demand, I've repeatedly seen beat up smoked to death ones sell for more than $50 on Ebay.
