Don't Smoke Cigar But..

Used to smoke cigar back in 80's, and do enjoy them. But it's hard to get rid of the smell. Have two Cohibas from 15 yrs ago along with a R&J. I usually don't throw things away. They were double bagged in Ziploc all these time. I moved them to Boveda bag two months ago. I know they are dried and won't taste good, but there's no issue with wrappers and try to see what it would be like. One more month and will try. Will have a pipe ready in case it sucks.

Heck, my father still has a couple of cigars from when I was born that he's not smoked yet. He's just kept them in a drawer ever since. I'm an old man now.

Every once in a while, a cigar will surprise you, especially a Havana.

I had a Partagas D4 and Cohiba Robusto in a humidor I neglected for about 6 or 7 years and when I finally smoked them, they actually performed pretty well. They'd lost a ton of flavor from the oils evaporating or whatever, but they burned well and stayed intact. They were intriguing enough to make me take the leap into buying a bunch more via mail order. A lot of people store their Habanos at very low humidity levels as compared to the conventional wisdom and report great success, so who knows!
