Come On! If you're going to make a selection of Winter Reserve blends, make them available so pipe smokers can buy them without having to buy a pipe also. I understand the concept of doing promotions but C&D has eight new Winter Reserve blends and it looks like you can only get a tin when you buy a Peterson pipe. You would have to buy eight Peterson pipes to get all eight tins. That's ridiculous.

It's just marketing. They'll likely make the leftovers available at some point after the promotion like they did last year. In the meantime, there are tons of other blends to discover and try!

Yeah, but.... I WANT IT NOW!

Seriously, I understand it's marketing as well as understanding there are a lot of other blends out there (I've only been a pipe smoker since 1972). It's just that I try to order tobacco I give out as Christmas presents to our two sons early and a couple of the new C&D blends are ones they will like.

Hopefully the Wintertime Reserve blends will go on sale in time for me to buy and get them before Christmas.

I can definitely understand that. There don't seem to be too many holiday offerings overall, so when something new comes along it is an obvious gift for a pipe smoker. My guess is that they don't really make enough of each blend to make them generally available on a large scale and therefore choose to limit access as "free gift with purchase" of a specific item promotion.

Something about this tells me that they are having a hard time moving some Petes. I really doubt this causes such a run on those Petersons that they run out.
I understand the whole “want it now” thing. But, probably without this promotion they’d have waited til later to release It anyways. I just hope the blend is better than a Peterson. puffy

Didn't they do this last year and they swore up and down the blends would not be released by themselves ever only to release them a month or so later?
Yes, the extras were made available for purchase on 1/02/2020. It was a surprising find of "lost" inventory, of course. It's not like they would just destroy any if the left over tins, right?

I just saw the email as well. It seems every week they have a new limited edition....I would be interested in trying Donder, but I wouldn’t be upset if I don’t get a tin. And The offering isn’t enticing me to buy a pipe for it.
