I always had a tank growing up...so when my girlfriend and I bought our house I had to get one...and then another...and then another...and then three fully stocked tanks at once...and now? It’s a hobby/chore/zen-achieving pastime.

here are some pics of a few of my 8 tanks. The one of the three 55s is from the night I got them, they’ve been filled out with decorations etc since then.

Last count was 87 total fish, 31 species. Kind of a problem, but I like it and people love chilling in our house and listening to the filters bubble, watching the fish and asking me how much time it takes to clean all of them (it takes a lot of time).

I have a forty. Only the one so, no aquarium, just a tank. You have an aquarium by God! Well done!

Years ago I raised Discus for resale. Too much attention required no. I now keep a couple of Hatchet and the usual school, a dozen, of Neons for interest and a bit of "flash.".

I used to have fish, from elementary school guppies all the way up to several 50 gallons tanks with ciclids and tiger oscars. But, in this last move into this house, I got rid of them. I already have to pee just hearing someone wash their hands, the tanks were making me feel like I had to pee all the time.

Nice tanks you have there. One of things I learned fast about the oscars was that they play with everything in the tanks. They would chunks stuff out of the tank that they didn't approve of and tore up the rest. Smart little buggers they were.

Cichlids are quite a pain, but fun to watch. I have about 20 African and south/Central American cichlids right now, not including the babies they made.

Which, by the way, which one of you lucky dudes wants some cichlid babies?

I have a large tank with two Green Terrors and other assorted smaller stuff and a tank, a 20L with 2 Zebra Mbuna and a 80gallon at the office with a ton of barbs and an electric blue Acara centrepiece. I will try to take some pics and add them when I can.

Sounds cool. Discus are one of those things that you just have to dedicate yourself to. I’d love to keep some one day, but it’s a lot of looking after from what I’ve read.

Did the cichlids for a while... but 40 gallon was too small and wasn't able to go bigger indoors. And yes that's a musk turtle in the one pick with the cichlids as well. Yellow Labs were terrified of the nearly 4.5+ inch Electric Blue. Now just a 75 gallon on the porch with the turtle and lots of swordtails. Swords can handle the temp flux from 84 down to 72ish.

I’ve had various fish and tanks but only a pleco named wild thunder now.

When I was younger I had an Amazonian Bicuda that ate goldfish. Then after that had a few varieties of Tanganyikan Cichlids.

Had a 46 gallon saltwater tank at one point, but due to frequent travel/training I ended up getting rid of it. I couldn’t devote the time and the tank suffered. Downgraded to a 10 gallon tank with just a few fish and corals. We have it set up in my 3 yr old son’s bed room. He loves it, I still get to scratch the itch of keeping a tank, and my wife is happier too.

beautiful! A 10gal saltwater?

My girlfriend is ok with not only my pipes, but the tanks as well...as long as she doesn’t have to deal with the .

How’d he get his name?
