Chatham Manor In A MM Special Edition, Yes

Chatham Manor is the Home & Hearth Midtown series match to Carter Hall. I find it a good substitute, maybe a bit better in terms of not having many or any additives, maybe more clarity. This example was bought as bulk, and the first outing was just so-so, in a dependable briar. However, packing it in a MM cob and giving it overnight to dry, it really came into its own, not an extravaganza blend, but just right as an classic Americana burley based blend for July 4th. When you want an easygoing classically inspired U.S. blend, this one fills the bill. If I go to a second bowl for the holiday, I may follow up with Sutliff's Field and Stream match, another old timer that has earned its keep.

I really enjoy Chatham Manor as well. It seems to have a bit less of that sawdust/woodchips taste that I get from Carter Hall, which isn’t necessarily a bad taste, but sometimes I’m not in the mood for it. If they decide to go through the expensive deeming process for CM, i’ll probably adopt it as my daily smoke.

Chatham Manor is a very good blend yet not close enough to Carter Hall for me to consider it a good match. I am in the seeming minority that prefers CH. CM has more of a sweet, not-nutty taste to it. The burley is too subdued to me in comparison to CH. It is a good standalone blend though that I do recommend.

I enjoy Chatham Manor for the sweet subdued simple smoke I guess. A small well dried portion goes in the bottom of my pipes for many blends (as dottle I still hope to eliminate some day). On it's own it is a fine smoke and ready to go right from the can/tub. Not a top 10 blend for me but certainly holds it's own.

I almost never smoke "matching" blends expecting it to be identical or even close. I see how I like them and order more or not. Sometimes I like the match better than the original. Usually it's a roll of the dice.

Sounds like a good one! I need to get a small pouch to try. How about Chestnut, Prince Andrew (LOL) or Sweet Cask? Any good? The only one of these blends' inspirations that I've had before is the Prince, which I enjoy from time to time.

I enjoy Sutliff Match Prince Albert, which is a good match for PA.

I haven't had the HH Prince Andrew, but they should start planning for a possible name change...

I like Chatham Manor. Good easygoing Burley/Virginia blend. The overall taste reminds me quite a bit of the Carnation malted milk I used to like as a kid. It’s not a blend I smoke every day, but often enough that I keep some on hand.

Chatham Manor is a good one, for sure. I think you hit the nail on the head when you say CM has more clarity. I prefer it to Carter Hall, but I enjoy both.

The other Midtown blends are nice as well. Don’t know how much of a match they are but all are decent, no frills smokes.

Could be. I've heard their match for Sobranie 759 is Black House.
