A Didimauw Tamper

I was gifted a pipe tamper by our very own didimauw. One which he created. It has gotten much use. Okay, it’s been ridden hard and put up wet so to speak. About five to ten bowls a day. I do clean it off once a month whether it needs it or not. Now it will be retired to a place of honor.

Old tampers never die; they just get put in a drawer in a room where you only occasionally smoke, as backup.

I got one from didi carved by a friend of his with a long bearded wizard face - the tamper, not his friend, lol.

Maybe, I haven’t actually seen his carver friend, so that’s possibly not true. ?

LMAO, no. The flattened tamper end is being used to apply the clay for the hamon on your knife!

Even though I make tampers all the time, I still only use my old man tamper that was gifted to me. I just love the way it ages.
This is how it looked April 22nd of last year. So it's almost a year old now with constant daily use.
