EDIT: Fixed Capitalization in Title (See Rule 9)

Hey, i am a new pipe smoker and i baught my second pipe today, it is a peterson standard system. I think that there's a deflaut in it. Look at the botom of the chamber. Is this bad? Should i smoke it? Will it burn out?Any help would be very appreciated. thank you very muchP_20200413_153316.jpg

Most of the time you may not even smoke down that far. The bottom layer of tobacco absorbs all of the nicotine, tar, and moisture as you smoke and may become too wet or too bitter to smoke. Even if it were a defect, it wouldn't become an issue. If you do smoke most of the time to the bottom of the chamber, and it were a defect, it would cake over anyway, so again, no issue.?

If it would make you feel better, you can send your Peterson to me and I'll very carefully break it in for you over the next 7-28 years. By that time, it should be well caked, broken in gently, and ready for your roughest use and abuse!
