I Have Been Trying for a While

I have a couple of Pete's with p-lips and for a while they were my favorite pipes, especially for clenching. I find the enlarged lower button hangs naturally from my lower teeth with my tongue underneath the stem. It actually took me a while to learn how to adapt to clenching a standard fishtail stem later on.

You slide the rubber bit down until it is under the draft hole. It takes some getting used to but it does work for clenching

You know what, I will be giving that a try - just got me a rubber bit.

I have 2 Petes, and 3 Savs with P-lips. They are by far my most smoked pipes.

There was a period where Peterson’s acrylic p-lips were just awful. Fat and too rounded, making them difficult to clench. I no longer own any of those. However, the good p-lips are a joy to clench on the well-bent pipes. They just hang effortlessly on my lower teeth. I love ‘em! I don’t hate them for straight pipes, but prefer fishtails for straight and 1/4-bent pipes.
