Kevin Godbee
Thank you for joining us for The Pipes Magazine Radio Show—the only radio talk show for pipe smokers and collectors. We broadcast weekly, every Thursday at 8 pm eastern USA time and are available on nearly all podcast sites and apps. Listen on your computer, tablet, phone and even in the car! Our Featured Interview tonight is with Gina Roode. Gina is a full time musician with an album of her own original acoustic guitar songs. She also performs live almost every week at various locations in Southern California, and she is of course, a pipe smoker. In addition, Gina is the June 2014 Pipe Babe on PipesMagazine.com. In our opening “Pipe Parts” educational segment, Brian will talk about pipe cleaners. You might be surprised how much there is to say about them. Sit back, relax with your pipe, and enjoy The Pipes Magazine Radio Show!

Tonight’s show is sponsored by Sutliff-Tobacco.com, CupOJoes.com, SmokingPipes.com, Missouri Meerschaum, 4noggins.com, MeerschaumStore.com, Cornell & Diehl, and Savinelli Pipes and Tobaccos. Please give them some consideration when making your next pipe or tobacco purchase.

We hope you enjoy our 1-hour show produced just for you—the pipe smoker and collector. The following link will launch a pop-up player. Alternatively, you can download the show in iTunes and other podcast sites and apps after the initial broadcast is complete here.

  • Quality broadcast again Brian. Gina was enjoyable and nice to hear we share all the same passions (guitar, pipes, and beer). Keep em coming, see you in KC in a few weeks.

  • HI Brian,
About 24 hours late, but our friend Bill Kotyk paid a visit last night so we chatted and smoked our pipes.
Oh well, Tuesday-Thursday, little difference to me as long as the quality of the show remains the same3 – high. However, I do have a 6 mtr. net at 9:00 PM on Tuesday – Guess they will just have to wait.
I also use 2 pipe cleaners per bowl. I always use Dill’s by habit. Of course don’t try to use a normal size pipe cleaner on a churchwarden or Magnum pipe.
As a beginning guitarist, I like Gina’s playing. Hope I get that good some day. Got a banjo toooo. Haven’t smoked a pipe while practicing – yet. She sounds like a person on the doorstop of a great future and has her act together. I enjoyed the interview.
Gina’s music selection was excellent! She must be great to watch in person. The music sounds a bit Celtic to me. Damn, and with no lessons. I have enough trouble with a six string guitar let alone a 12 string (although I do have a Yamaha 12 string acoustic) and a banjo does compliment learning a guitar. I am surprised she has not tried Lane 1Q.
Rant – I agree, push a button and get there!
Great show. It exceeded my expectations!

  • Brian,
Normally we do not hear you speachless, however, Gina left you so afflicted several times during the interview. I did not understand why until I heard her play. She is truly a gifted musician.
For those of us that cannot play instruments even with training it is amazing.to find a person who has that type of ability, is down to earth, and interesting as Gina.
    Excelent show.
    Brian
