Kevin Godbee
Thank you for joining us for the 1st Anniversary of The Pipes Magazine Radio Show—the only radio talk show for pipe smokers and collectors. To celebrate our one year anniversary, Brian Levine will be joined in studio by show producer, Kevin Godbee as co-host. In “Pipe Parts” we will confess some of our own personal pipe mishaps that some of you may have experienced yourselves. Brian will interview Kevin. You will hear how we met, and how we developed the radio show, along with some of the background on the show along with behind-the-scenes information. This is a little bit like the show that is about the show. You’ll hear how the show was conceived and then implemented. In the mailbag segment, we will talk about what listeners wrote in about their favorite parts about the show, or their favorite shows from the past year.
Tonight’s show is sponsored by Sutliff-Tobacco.com, CupOJoes.com, SmokingPipes.com, Missouri Meerschaum, 4noggins.com, and MeerschaumStore.com, Please give them some consideration when making your next pipe or tobacco purchase.
We hope you enjoy our 50-minute show produced just for you—the pipe smoker and collector. The following link will launch a pop-up player. Alternatively, you can download the show in iTunes after the initial broadcast is complete here.

hi Brian and Kevin,
Is that canned clapping in the background? It’s Live!!!
Very interesting discussion on meeting and the founding of the show. 53 shows is a great achievement. I think I heard every one on time except one.
Large audience takes a great commitment.
Don Wilbanks – great ham radio operator and NEwsLine announcer.
Pipe shows are like battery chargers.
Thanks for the memories.
have to laugh on the “ship pipes”. YOu are right if you listen to it over and over.
Great show. The two person format worked extremely well. Best wishes looking forward to another year of the Pipe Magazine podcast. Thanks Guys!
All that needs to be said, from your loyal listeners is, “Thank You.”
It was a great show and I really enjoyed the stories. Keep up the good work guys!
This is just a wonderfully entertaining and informative show. I have listened to all of them, albeit as a download, and have marveled at how you have been able to keep the show fresh over time.
Loved listening to the “backstory” of the show. Kevin Godbee clotheshorse?? Who knew?
I just listened to the first anniversary show and I want to congratulate Kevin and Brian. I have listened to most of the shows since ithe show’s inception and I have enjoyed them all immensely. I would add that it was through the show that I first discovered 4noggins – a seller I was completely oblivious to before first listening to the show. Since then I have bought a ton of tobacco from Rich, so the advertising certainly does work. Many thanks to all involved in this wonderful show.
Episode 53 was enjoyable: two hosts for the price of one! Kevin and Brian play off of each other nicely. Sort of like Burns and Allen (I won’t say which was which).
Great show Brien & Kevin enjoyed listening to you guys talking about our favorite hobby pipe smoking and how you guys got the idea of the radio show into reality .
Kevin, I also enjoyed your Hendrix selection for the 4th of July. I find Hendrix version of the Star Spangled Banner a very fitting expression of the times. America was in quite a bit of turmoil.
Keep up the great work guys!
I am finally caught up. I just learned about the pipes magazine radio show about three weeks ago. I have listened to most of every episode over the past few weeks (podcast). I’ve smoked pipes hit and, mostly, miss for about 20 years, with many years in between. I have only been passionate for the last 7 months or so. I joined a pipe club through a local B&M (Up In Smoke- Lewisville, TX. Club meets 3rd Thursday at 7p.m.). One of your guests, Colin Rigsby, is the president, who also informed me about the radio show. I have learned so much from the club and your radio show. Thanks for the show, it delivers as advertised “sometimes educational…” Looking forward to more.
Correction on above. The pipe club that meets at Up In Smoke in Lewisville, TX is on the 3rd TUESDAY of every month at 7 p.m.
