  • What a wonderful, wonderful interview. And, Brian: The sound quality of Per’s side of the conversation was fantastic.
I’m going to treasure that inage of his father falling asleep in the tub with a submerged pipe and a “Donald Duck” comic.

  • I’m not especially interested in all the pipe and tobacco arcana, so I did not know there was a connection between Per Jensen and Georg Jensen the pipe maker. Many years ago (don’t even remember where or when) I picked up a basket pipe that turned out to be, hands-down, the favorite briar pipe that I have ever owned. The stamping on it isn’t very even, so it’s hard to read. Eventually, I figured out it was a Georg Jensen pipe. It was therefore a happy surprise to hear the connection on today’s show.

  • I haven’t posted in a long time. Good to be back. Great show Brian. I always love to hear Per being interviewed. He is such a personable guy. I love the fact that he will show up in the forums to answer questions too. I look forward to your next interview with him.
While you are traipsing around the Chicago show I’ll be at the Lohmar Pipe Show. Not as prestigeous, but this will be the 13th year of the show.
Still keeping up with the show all the way from Stuttgart, Germany! Always a great source of info. Say hello to McCranie’s on Park Road for me!

  • Excellent interview with Per. I am such a Mac Baren fan. I first heard the name in the mid-1960s.

  • I am with you on Presbyterian. I’d swear it had Latakia in it. I like Englishes but I don’t much care for Presbyterian.
Good interview with Per Jensen. He was as personable as ever. I really dislike Burley so I am not looking forward to the Mac Baren release of HH Burley Flake.
Don’t care much for their upcoming Balkan release but will give it a try. At least they didn’t call Mac 759.
I wish they would quit trying with 3 Nuns. The blend is so screwed up that putting some Perique in it isn’t going to change anything. It’s a good 20 years too late.
Yeah, it’s a shame some people buy up all the tobacco when a blend goes out of business but it’s their money so they can do as they please.

  • Loved the pod 291 and the interviewer you had on. Great show, don’t change your music it makes the show.
Keep up the good work, Oldmansmoking from Portsmouth UK.

  • This has to be one of my top ten interviews. The sound quality was great, Per’s English was very clear, and the whole interview was so interesting. Like others, I found the bathtub story amusing. Pleasant smokes!
