Our Featured Interview tonight is with Terry Carpenter. Terry is a long-time pipe smoker and collector who started smoking a pipe in 1969. He’s an old school pipe smoker who spent 13 years in the Army, and 8 years in the Navy. In the Pipe Parts segment, Brian will discuss two different old-school pipe smokers, Georges Simenon, a Belgian writer best known as the creator of the fictional detective Jules Maigret, who was also a pipe smoker, and Gerald Ford the 38th President of the United States – the last American President to regularly smoke in The White House. Sit back, relax with your pipe, and enjoy The Pipes Magazine Radio Show!

  • Maigret is a prototypical pipe smoker and a real good choice to be one of your great smokers of the past. Gerald Ford having to deal with Betty needed a pipe to stick with her.
Terry Carpenter was a real good interview. I was really impressed with his knowledge of pipe literature and how much of it he has. He has a good appreciation of Latakia tobacco which was nice to hear.
