Kevin Godbee
Thank you for joining us for The Pipes Magazine Radio Show—the only radio talk show for pipe smokers and collectors. We broadcast weekly, every Tuesday at 8 pm eastern USA time and are available on nearly all podcast sites and apps. Listen on your computer, tablet, phone and even in the car! Our Featured Interview tonight is with Terry Carpenter. Terry is a long-time pipe smoker and collector who started smoking a pipe in 1969. He’s an old school pipe smoker who spent 13 years in the Army, and 8 years in the Navy. In the Pipe Parts segment, Brian will discuss two different old-school pipe smokers, Georges Simenon, a Belgian writer best known as the creator of the fictional detective Jules Maigret, who was also a pipe smoker, and Gerald Ford the 38th President of the United States – the last American President to regularly smoke in The White House. Sit back, relax with your pipe, and enjoy The Pipes Magazine Radio Show!

Tonight’s show is sponsored by SmokingPipes.com, Cornell & Diehl, and Savinelli Pipes and Tobaccos. Please give them some consideration when making your next pipe or tobacco purchase.

  • Maigret is a prototypical pipe smoker and a real good choice to be one of your great smokers of the past. Gerald Ford having to deal with Betty needed a pipe to stick with her.
Terry Carpenter was a real good interview. I was really impressed with his knowledge of pipe literature and how much of it he has. He has a good appreciation of Latakia tobacco which was nice to hear.
