The Pipes Magazine Radio Show – Episode 245

Kevin Godbee
Thank you for joining us for The Pipes Magazine Radio Show—the only radio talk show for pipe smokers and collectors. We broadcast weekly, every Tuesday at 8 pm eastern USA time and are available on nearly all podcast sites and apps. Listen on your computer, tablet, phone and even in the car! Our Featured Interview tonight is with Roberto Ascorti. Roberto is the founder of the boutique Italian pipe factory making Ascorti pipes. He was introduced to pipes at age 10 when his father started the Caminetto pipe factory. When the Caminetto factory closed, the workers joined Roberto at the Ascorti factory. This pre-recorded interview reveals some quite interesting practices in the Ascorti pipe making process. In the Pipe Parts segment, Brian will discuss what makes a perfect billiard shaped pipe, along with measurements and photos. Sit back, relax with your pipe, and enjoy The Pipes Magazine Radio Show!

Tonight’s show is sponsored by SmokingPipes.com, Cornell & Diehl, and Savinelli Pipes and Tobaccos. Please give them some consideration when making your next pipe or tobacco purchase.

We hope you enjoy our 1-hour show produced just for you—the pipe smoker and collector. The following link will launch a pop-up player. Alternatively, you can download the show in iTunes and other podcast sites and apps after the initial broadcast is complete here.

  • Good show. I have mainly bent pipes and really dislike billiards so I can’t say much good about them. When we had the KC Pipe Show contest for billiards there were fifty some entries for the contest but if you rules out non-billiards we wouldn’t of had 7 pipes for the seven day set. They are really hard to make.
The Ascorti interview was very good.

  • I really enjoyed the conversation with the Ascortis. Not only fun, but very informative.
It was also nice to meet up with you, again, in Chicago.
    Thanks for another entertaining show.
