The Pipes Magazine Radio Show – Episode 226

Kevin Godbee
Thank you for joining us for The Pipes Magazine Radio Show—the only radio talk show for pipe smokers and collectors. We broadcast weekly, every Tuesday at 8 pm eastern USA time and are available on nearly all podcast sites and apps. Listen on your computer, tablet, phone and even in the car! Our Featured Interview tonight is with pipe maker Brighton de los Santos, maker of the Brighton James Pipes brand. His pipes are contemporary artisanal pipes in very artistic freehand abstract shapes that reflect his background in art. He has been making pipes since he graduated high school and received his initial instruction from well-known Italian Briar supplier "Mimmo". In the Pipe Parts segment, Brian will answer tobacco related questions that were sent in. Sit back, relax with your pipe, and enjoy The Pipes Magazine Radio Show!

Tonight’s show is sponsored by Sutliff-Tobacco.com, SmokingPipes.com, Missouri Meerschaum, Cornell & Diehl, and Savinelli Pipes and Tobaccos. Please give them some consideration when making your next pipe or tobacco purchase.

We hope you enjoy our 1-hour show produced just for you—the pipe smoker and collector. The following link will launch a pop-up player. Alternatively, you can download the show in iTunes and other podcast sites and apps after the initial broadcast is complete here.

  • Another good show. Really enjoyed the discussion of aging tobaccos. Personally I really enjoy Va’s that are 20 years old, but I am way past the age were I can store tobaccos for that long. For some reason eBay has really dried up on really well aged tobaccos.
I had never heard of Brighton de los Santos but enjoyed the interview very much. For a very young man he has met a lot of the players in the industry. His pipes are highly stylized versions of classic shapes. I don’t recall you saying how much he charges for the pipes.
The music selection was quite good.
