SmokingPipes.com, one of the largest online retailers of pipes and tobaccos celebrated their 10th Anniversary at the Chicago Pipe Show with a gala extravaganza.
If you’ve ever done business with SmokingPipes.com, then you know they are a 1st class operation. Their 10th Anniversary Party was no different. There were hors d’oeuvres distributed by black-tie servers, full-liquor open bar and an extremely talented live band that had the crowd on their feet. The party was held inside the 6,000 sq. ft. smoking tent at the Chicago Pipe Show at Pheasant Run Resort in St. Charles IL. The party started at 9 pm and went past midnight, almost till 1 o’clock.
Most of the “who’s who” from the pipe business and collector’s arena was there. The attendance estimate was 150 – 200 people. In addition to food, drink and live music, there was lots of schwag to be had, such as; t-shirts, pins, posters, drink cups, coffee mugs and temporary tattoos. Susan Salinas of SmokingPipes.com personally applied my temporary tattoo, but I can’t tell you where. Ok, it was on my hand. The tattoo lasted for several days after the show, which was a nice memory that took me back to the show each time I looked at it. The most unusual schwag was the “Official SmokingPipes.com Socks”.
I wore them and they were extremely comfortable and even cushy walking around my house with no shoes. I am hoping they have boxer shorts and thongs next year.
Everything mentioned above certainly makes for an excellent party, and then remember that we were all smoking pipes!
Now that’s an unbelievably excellent party!

The Smokingpipes.com party was excellent and I had a blast! They did a great job organizing it.
I miss the great time we had at the party, but looking at the photos and video brings me right back there again. I wish that there was a pipe smoking party like that every Saturday night!
Oh yeah, the socks are comfortable as hell! I wore mine on Sunday at the show and it added a some cushion and comfort-ability to my weary feet. I may go put them on right now! 🙂
Thanks for sharing looks like everyone had a great time, maybe one day i will get enough money to visit,it is my dream vacation to go to the Chicago show.
Frank Burla told me that the Saturday night event was so well received that he had three offers from companies to do it again next year. It sure beats the ice cream social that use to be held on Saturday nights.
Where else on this earth can a guy off the street go and spend Saturday night with 20 or 30 of the greatest pipe makers in the world, along with several of the largest retailers not to mention the folks from Pipes Magazine. Yes it was a great time. I’m ready for next year.
wish I could have been there
Thanks for all the pics too.
