Arango Cigar Co. Acquires XYZ Direct’s Assets and Distribution Rights

Arango Cigar Co. has purchased the assets and distribution rights of XYZ Direct, Ltd. Arango also owns the Wessex brand as part of the agreement.

In addition to the entire Wessex line of products, Arango will also distribute Denicotea products, Rattray’s tobaccos, Chacom pipes from France, Mastro de Paja pipes and humidors from Italy, leather goods from Martin Wess and many other pipe tobaccos and accessories from Europe that fall in line with Arango’s expanding portfolio of products.

Michael Gold, Arango’s president said of the acquisition, Alan and Joan Schwartz of XYZ have carved an important niche in our industry with their product lines and quality service. We at Arango are looking forward to transitioning these extensive lines as well as broadening the coverage throughout the United States. We will continue to offer the best customer service and a one-stop shopping environment second to none."

Schwartz commented on the acquisition by saying, "Joan and I are so pleased that the company we have built will be run with the same integrity and commitment that we have always strived to provide to our customers. Knowing the position Mike Gold and Arango Cigar hold in our industry, made them the obvious choice to take over XYZ Direct."

All the XYZ inventory is in Arango’s warehouse and can be ordered by contacting Arango Cigar Co. directly.

Arango is also the U.S. importer / distributor for Nording Pipes, Ascorti Pipes, Butera Pipe Tobaccos, and Woodmere Pipe Furniture.

  • Thanks for the information on this development in corporate hop scotch.
Hopefully, there will be no interruption in distribution of Fribourg & Treyer and
Robert McConnell blends with current sources. I can’t find these blends
locally, so my choices are limited.

  • We’ve got Frisbourg and Treyer and Robert McConnell blends here at Holt’s Cigar Company on Walnut Street and I was happy to discover that Arango’s assimilation of XYZ products was a seamless and smooth process.
